Ugh problems problems problems

July 4th, 2008

I will be talking about the following:

  1. The situation surrounding my car
  2. Father no longer bothering to cover up his affair with my past babysitter
  3. Pizza at work
  4. Passport renewal

1. Turns out the car could still run; just on 3 cylinders anyways.

On June 28th, a friend of the family went to the Canadian tire that broke my spark plug and told them off because the Canadian tire staff was still trying to charge us for the time spent on the vehicle and parking fees(Which was never brought up).

So far Canadian tire is apparently going to make it so that if we do sell the car they will take the amount owed from me, however; our family friend is going to try to fight it for us.

On June 30th that same family friend came by with a friend of his to check what they could do to get the broken plug out and decided they could try to get it out by “heli coiling” it out and if it fails it fails.

So now I’m wondering if I should just go in debt and get myself a new car or not.

2. Usually my dad hides his relationship with his lady on the side but now I just see her name everywhere every time I go into his room.

On his computer screen, on his bills (Apparently they’re sharing an account? That fucker owes me 2500 and he’s sharing an account with the girl that he cheated with?).

I hope the guy finally runs off with her and leave the rest of my family alone =|

3. At work we took down a ~40 kg aluminum door which was scrapped for over 100 bucks so we decided to fill our Thursdays with some Cor’s pizza in Aldergrove. I have to say Cor’s pizza definitely slaps a lot of pizza restaurants in the face that I’ve had in BC.

The food is good and decently priced… But spicy apparently = a light tang.

4. My mom reminded me that my passport needed to be renewed so I:

  1. Went to London Drugs to get a passport picture taken
  2. Filled out the application form
  3. Sent it out with my original passport

Filling up the application form was a bit tiresome because of the “gov’t language” (Incoherent) they used.

Another problem was filling out the part of it that asks for 2 people who can identify you. Obviously I don’t know all my friend’s exact mailing address, mobile number and last name so I just picked out people I did have information on and wrote them down and asked for their information.

The part that really got me was attempting to get information from Arthur. The problem with this is the guy never gives you the information you want; so in the end I just got his information looking through my old folders.

Chapstick Uses

June 21st, 2008

Here’s what I’ve used Chapstick for:

  1. Dry Lips
  2. To stop blood from cutting out of small cuts
  3. To keep my nose moist in order to fight my dust mite allergies (I just jam the sucker into my nostrils and swirl it around)

Since June 9th

June 21st, 2008

Since June 9th to today the following are what stood out to me:

  1. Getting a speeding ticket right after work
  2. Getting lost on Lougheed hwy while getting to Jeff’s place in Coquitlam
  3. Going to Art’s new house when he wasn’t there
  4. Went to the Marina Grill in North Vancouver to have breakfast with some friends
  5. Driving Art to three different skytrain stations
  6. Eating at some poutine place (I think it was called “Belgian Fries”) on Commercial Dr
  7. Watched “Don’t Mess with the Zohan”
  8. Finally getting my Pandora battery from Deal Extreme and modding my PSP slim
  9. Getting new spark plugs for my car
  10. Finding out I need to pay a thousand dollars because the mechanic at Canadian Tire broke one of the spark plugs and now he needs to send to another shop so they can deal with it

1. When I was driving home right after work I was pulled over by a motorcycle cop who clocked me going 87 km/h on MacClure hwy in Abbotsford.

The ticket ending up being 138 dollars and thankfully he didn’t bust my balls about not having an official ICBC new driver sign.

All I can say is at least I got 25 bucks off that ticket because of their 30 days policy and luckily he caught me going at 87 km/h… I usually go 110 km/h there :o

2. So the day before Saturday everything was all nice a planned out. Get on Lougheed hwy and go pick up my friend Jeff. Ah if only life was as simple as that…

As I was making great timing getting to Jeff’s house I failed to research that Lougheed hwy later turns into Barnett Hwy and then into St John’s and then back to Barnett Hwy (Hurray for the GVRD’s urban planning department) if you didn’t notice that to continue on Lougheed hwy you would have had to turn left at one point and not right (Which I thought I had to do). This wouldn’t have been such a big issue if it wasn’t for the fact that I thought I would have to turn right at some point… because I pretty much took a 20 minute loop around North Burnaby only to head back south and back on Lougheed.

The amount of frustration going through me was almost unbearable; I felt the need to stop in the middle of the Barnett Hwy and go into the forest to kill a bear with my cell phone and paint my face with it’s blood while cursing the so called “modern world” >:|

3. So I finally pick up Jeff and we head out to Arthur’s house and we got lost because I for some reason forgot 12th street in New Westminster turns into Kingsway Hwy so we made a bunch of unnecessary turns which wasn’t so bad… well until we found out that Arthur was at his parent’s house not his new place.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

The reason why I thought he would be at his new house was because the day before he clearly stated that he would be at his new place all day so he could play MGS4. After he ball busted me not to assume things I picked him up and then drove everyone to my friend Erol’s place.

4. So finally picking up the friends are done after Art and me switch seats(People with New Driver’s licenses aren’t allow to drive a certain amount of people) we head out to North Vancouver to get some breakfast at the Marina Grill.

So we get to the Marina Grill and we all order the “Yachtsman” for breakfast despite Jeff how he was going to be the guy who wouldn’t be a sheep and get the Yachtsman as well…well the Yachtsman and 3 sausages? I guess he couldn’t get enough even after being in a car with 4 guys lol!

After we sat down at our table we started getting down to the conversation and it was hilariously weird which is like what many of my conversations with Erol is like. Erol and I were talking about a place called “Tomohawk’s” that is also in North Vancouver and how insane the portions of bacon there was on that day.

Then Erol said something along the lines of “All I could think of afterwards was Sumo wrestlers whipping each other with Bacon whips and sweating Maple Syrup”. Everyone cracked up about what the details would be like and unfortunately the elderly that were sitting around us weren’t too happy with our conversation :>

We then started talking about Subaru’s SUV commercial that featured sexy Sumos doing a car wash!

So here’s my review about the Marina Grill in North Vancouver

Pros:

  • The service was great and the waitresses were very friendly and cute.
  • The place was nice and had a great view because it is located right next to the ports and away from the roads.
  • The Yachtsman was good and so were the portions

Cons:

  • The freshly squeezed drinks flat out sucked; They tasted like they used fruits that were just about to go or used the boat water
  • The inside looks like it’s for old farts with oxygen tanks

So after arguing a bit about how the bill is supposed to work out especially the bill since Art and Jeff don’t believe that good service deserves at least a decent tip (8 bucks for a 50 dollar meal between us all) but good old Erol had my back on this.

5. So we get back to Art’s new place and watch him play Metal Gear Solid 4 for a bit and stare at Snake’s great ass for about half a hour and then he kicked us out so he could go get his fancy haircut at Chura’s. So 10 minutes later after getting to Metrotown from where he lives he calls me and says he needs a ride to another skytrain station because apparently there was an accident that halted certain stops.

I go back like the good friend I am to rescue him from his stressful situation and while driving him back to Metrotown he tells me that he left my handbrake on the whole way to North Van and to Metrotown and tries to pin the blame on me for it? =\

Anyways… we get to Metrotown and drop him off and I just let my car roll down the back alleys of some houses pretty much waiting for his call and 3 minutes later he told us to pick him up again. We go back and pick him up and then finally we got him to Joyce station where he was finally able to get on his way to getting a “silky smooth” haircut.

6. After I dropped Jeff off at one of his friend’s place and got to Erol’s we were hungry again so we went out to find us some food.

We ended up at some poutine place I think is called “Belgian Fries”.

He ordered the classic and I ordered a large Montreal style smoked beef poutine… Man I overestimated myself…

The smoked beef slices were absolutely delicious but there was just so much… so much I had to surrender and ask for a “to go bag”.

So here’s the pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Good food for a good price
  • Had great root beer :D
  • Nice people(none really know how to speak English though…)

Cons:

  • Not the coolest neighborhood in town (Africans acting like the stereotype)

7. After some gaming and picking at my poutine shame we called up Neil and went by skytrain instead of driving(Because driving in downtown sucks).

Erol and me waited for Neil for like 20 minutes while fighting off panhandlers around Stadium station and glaring through the window of our favourite Fatburger and watch it close in front of us D:

When he came we did some catching up while elbowing away some panhandlers and decided to go and watch” the Hulk” at Metrotown because we could use more movie options in case “the Hulk” was too packed (We chose Metrotown instead of the Parmount because for some reason the movie theatre needed to have 3 rooms booked for Sex and the City? Jesus).

So we get to Metrotown and HOLY CRAP it’s packed more than it usually is for a Saturday night which is a lot already. We looked up at the show times and noticed that “the Hulk” showings were already being sold out so we decided to watch the “Chronicles of Narnia” “Don’t mess with the Zohan” instead.

We first got our seats then figured out how we would get food and drinks inside and then we sat back and prepared ourselves for “Beverly hills Chihuahuas” “Don’t mess with the Zohan”.

Here’s my review of the movie:

  • Hilarious all the way through

8. So on Tuesday I got my Pandora battery and started working on my PSP slim which was amazingly easy to do (Download files> run system window>format stick>reset PSP>run another program>move a folder to stick>enjoy gaming).

The first game I played was SF alpha which is friggin hard and Patapon.

So far I’m loving Patapon. The characters are adorable and it’s so simple but requires so much attention it pleases the kid side of me.

9. So my car was misfiring so as I never dealt with this kind of issue I asked my supervisor on what to do and he told me to buy some spark plugs and new cables and he’d help me the next day.

I did as he said and picked up two pairs of Bosch plugs and cables since they were on sale for my car.

I get back to him and he didn’t have enough time to work on it so he gave me his 5/3″ socket wrench and I got one of my coworkers who were willing to help me out with it. After seeing him take out the first one with ease I had high expectations that all my problems would be solved but then he got to the second one and it was stuck… unmovable. We went to ask our supervisor what to do and he said to wait until it’s cooler and to soak it with WD40 and let it sit overnight and it should be OK then but if there is problems I’d be screwed because they would have to re-tap(making a new thread for it) it.

So I did what he said but they still wouldn’t come out so I went to Canadian Tire since they were the only ones I know that are open on Saturdays and told them about my problems and they said they should be able to take care of.

Then the mechanic calls me up and says that he’ll have to retap it and it would cost about a 100 dollars or so.

10. Then 5 hours later we call them up and they tell us that the spark plug broke inside so they’d have to send it to the machine shop and have the guys over there take the engine apart and re-tap it over there which would cost me around a 1000 dollars =|

So I messaged Erol that I wouldn’t be going out next Saturday because of the money problem that I’ll have after this (I’ve only got a 1000 bucks in the bank and 800 dollars of credit card bills).

Man this sucks! I was so happy about having a decent amount of money on hand so I could send my late wedding present to Jay and replacing my dust mite covered mattress.

Well hopefully this will be the end of the problems with my ford escort…

Mondays…

June 9th, 2008

Today I did the following:

  1. Drive to work
  2. Get shocked once again at gas prices
  3. Work
  4. Drive home

1. Holy crap! Almost every intersection I went through was red today and boy there was a lot of intersections; what a way to kick off a Monday.

2. Apparently gas prices in Aldergrove, BC, Canada were at 132 per litre! I’ve never seen it that high before in that town and what an increase it is. Just a couple of days ago the price in Aldergrove was just at 124 per litre!

Damn Politicians and their bullshit antics to steal more money from the people using “green” excuses such as this BS carbon tax that apparently goes into making more highways? =\

4. Today the rain came out with its fist flailing everywhere so traffic really sucked. Just getting to the next block took more than 10 minutes!

I decided to take the scenic route and after getting lost a couple of times in the residential areas and being freaked out the whole time driving I was able to get where I needed to be.
